Nathan Cox, Chief Executive Officer   |   Read Bio

Nathan Cox

Chief Executive Officer

Nathan is the Founder of 68 Ventures and the Chief Executive Officer of 68 Ventures and Truland Homes.  After receiving an Honorable Discharge from the United States Marine Corps, where he served with the 3rd Bn 6th Marines as an Infantry Officer in Iraq, Nathan returned home to embark on a career centered around real estate.  Nathan founded Bellator Real Estate & Development in 2008, Truland Homes in 2011 and later brought them together under the Battle Plan Capital umbrella in 2012.  In 2016 he bought out his other partners, and created 68 Ventures to serve as his primary holding company moving forward.  The most recent operating businesses added to the 68V platform have been Thrive Title in 2017 and Truland Mortgage in 2018.  As CEO, he focuses his time on the development side of the business in conjunction with serving as the visionary for the respective companies.

Nathan earned an MBA from the University of South Alabama and graduated summa cum laude with a BS in investment finance from the University of Alabama, where he was also a member of the football team from 2000 to 2003.  He obtained Academic All-SEC honors in both 2002 and 2003, and was recognized with the Paul “Bear” Bryant Award his senior year as the university’s most outstanding student athlete.  He is a CCIM as well as an active member of the Southern 7 Chapter of the Young Presidents’ Organization.

Nathan is passionate about spending time with his three children, traveling with his wife, leading charitable endeavors, exercising, seeking out different challenges, any form of competition and studying successful people.  He concentrates on staying true to his core values of faith, effort, gratitude, honor courage and commitment while striving to live out his personal purpose statement, “To see all I can do with all that I have been given by always going for it, never forgetting who I am in the process and helping everyone I can along my journey to live out a story worth telling.  On judgement day my life will have been deemed a success because I will be able to say, ‘I have nothing left.  I used everything you gave me.”

Brad Israel

Chief Leadership Officer

Brad serves as Chief Leadership Officer for 68 Ventures and all its core companies.  Prior to joining the team, Brad was the Director of Development for a national real estate development firm, specializing in single tenant, freestanding retail buildings. Brad is committed to the study and application of leadership in all forms; this stems from his 12 years of military service as an officer in the U.S. Army Infantry and Special Operations Community. On 9.11, Brad took on the responsibility to serve his country and lead men in combat.  He has deployed all over the world as a Green Beret and spent over two years in combat in support of Operation Enduring Freedom – Afghanistan.

Brad graduated magna cum laude with a BA from Hampden-Sydney College.  After returning to his hometown of Mobile, AL, Brad immediately got involved in the community by serving on the Mobile Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and is the Chairman for Military Affairs Committee.  He also serves on the advisory board for Synovus Bank and internationally with the Center for Expeditionary Economics. Brad is a 2017 Presidential Leadership Scholar and is passionate about speaking and consulting with companies and teams on leadership. Brad loves creating memories and experiences with his beautiful wife Anna, and three incredible boys through travel, adventure, the outdoors, and the community.

Brent Dudley

Chief Operating Officer

Brent serves as Chief Operating Officer for 68 Ventures and brings over 20 years of experience across various industries.  His efforts are focused on the day to day execution of operational strategy, ongoing business development, and driving efficiencies into all systems and processes.  In addition, Brent proactively pursues new opportunities and potential investors which best align with the purpose, values, vision, and strategy of 68 Ventures.

Prior to joining the organization, Brent spent 12 years as an Executive within Accenture’s Corporate Development and Transaction Services group.  In this role he helped to drive the strategic and financial direction for the firm’s largest, most complex commercial arrangements with Fortune 500 companies.  He also helped to develop new businesses through joint ventures, alliances, and equity investment transactions.  Before joining Accenture, Brent worked for 8 years in a strategy consulting role within the technology market.  In this capacity, he was responsible for developing business process automation strategies, operationalizing corporate vision, and driving financial outcomes.

A native of Fayetteville, GA, Brent attended the University of Georgia where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Management Information Systems and then later an MBA in Finance.  Brent loves spending time with his wife Jane and their two children, while traveling, camping, hanging out with family and friends, coaching youth sports, and staying involved with their community.

Drew Dolan

Chief Legal Officer

Drew serves as the Chief Legal Officer of 68 Ventures and Truland Homes. He focuses his efforts on real estate due diligence and deal execution, as well as oversees all legal matters for the company.

Prior to joining 68 Ventures, Drew worked as an associate attorney in the commercial real estate group at Maynard, Cooper & Gale in Birmingham, AL. At Maynard, Drew represented buyers, sellers, investors, developers, landlords and tenants in all types of real estate matters including acquisition, development and leasing transactions in markets throughout the United States.

A native of Fairhope, AL, Drew attended the University of Alabama where he went on to earn his Bachelors in Finance, Masters in Business Administration, and law degree. Drew and his wife, Ashleigh, have one son.

Lindsey Boney, Chief Financial Officer   |   Read Bio

Lindsey Boney

Chief Financial Officer

Lindsey serves as the Chief Financial Officer for Truland Homes and is responsible for all finance and accounting functions including financial reporting, budgeting, cash forecasting, balance sheet management, lender relationships, and risk management.

Upon graduation from Auburn in 1973, he began a 22 year career with the national accounting firm which is now Deloitte.  He became a Certified Public Accountant in 1975 and was admitted to the partnership in 1985.  In 2001 Lindsey became CFO of The Mitchell Company which, at the time, was one of the largest homebuilders and real estate developers in the Mobile and Pensacola markets. In 2005 and 2006, The Mitchell Company was included in the Top 100 Builders in a list compiled by Builder Magazine.

Prior to joining Truland Homes Lindsey was a Principal with Smith, Dukes & Buckalew, LLP where his focus was on non-traditional services such as litigation support, business valuation, forensic accounting, consulting and interim CFO assignments.  He earned his Certified Fraud Examiner designation in 2010 and became a Certified Valuation Analyst in 2012.

Lindsey has held a number of leadership positions with local civic and community organizations and currently serves as an advisory board member and chairman of the finance committee of Prodisee Pantry. He is also a deacon and choir member at Eastern Shore Baptist Church.  He and his wife Susan, both natives of Choctaw County, have been married for 45 years.  They have two sons and seven grandchildren.  In his free time Lindsey enjoys carpentry and home improvement projects and spending time in Choctaw County hunting, fishing and remodeling his childhood home.

Division President, Cornerstone and Encore

Tom serves as Cornerstone and Encore Division President at Truland Homes.  He is a 30-year veteran of the homebuilding and real estate industries. He is an accomplished and results oriented business leader with successful achievements in home building and business development including project management, operations management, strategic marketing and implementation. He is responsible for the financial performance of the company, overseeing all aspects of construction, sales and marketing efforts. Through his leadership, Truland is positioned for continued growth in the Central Gulf Coast region.

Prior to joining Truland Homes as president in 2012, Tom served as executive vice president and a founding partner of an Atlanta-based home builder, vice president of sales and marketing for an Atlanta-based national homebuilder and sales manager/marketing director for a regional homebuilder based in Mobile, Alabama. A native of Houston, Texas, he earned his Bachelor’s of Science degree from the University of South Alabama and is an active board member of the NAHB. Tom enjoys exploring new places and spending time with his wife, Donya, and two children, Gavin and Lauren Bayley.

Chad Edgar

Florida Truland Division President

Chad is a native of Pensacola, FL, where he grew up working for his family’s residential construction company. It was this experience that led to his career in the construction industry. Chad currently serves as Florida Division President providing leadership and oversight of all aspects of homebuilding operations.

During his 25-year career in the home building industry in Northwest Florida, Chad has held positions in all aspects of residential construction serving as construction manager, division manager, and division president. His experience includes leadership in overseeing sales and marketing, operations, project management, land acquisitions, and customer relations.  Chad currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Homebuilder’s Association of West Florida.

He and his wife Heather have four children, Kyle, Amanda, Mary Alex, and Cameron. They currently reside in Northwest Florida and are members of Liberty Church. He volunteers in his community coaching youth baseball. Chad enjoys spending his time with family and friends, being outdoors, and is an avid golfer.

Chris serves as Division President for Limitless by Truland Homes.  He graduated from the University of Mobile with a bachelor’s degree in Business Management in 2004.  After graduation, Chris worked at a computer software company while he dreamed of building quality custom homes for families. He made those dreams a reality when he started his own custom home building business in 2005. An accomplished entrepreneur, Chris has over 13 years of professional custom home building experience. He is excited to continue his passion for delivering exceptional results and joining the Truland Home team.

Chris is highly motivated and dedicated to customizing your home to fit your needs precisely. He knows that if you have a dream, the possibilities are truly limitless.  Chris enjoys spending time and making memories with his wife, Elizabeth, and their daughter Mary Pierson Bailey. He loves being outdoors, sports, fishing, and playing golf. Chris and his family are members of Christ the King Catholic Church.

VP of Marketing and Advertising

Mallory serves as the VP of Marketing and Advertising for 68 Ventures and Truland Homes. She is responsible for overseeing all marketing and advertising for 68 Ventures and all of its core companies.

She graduated from the University of South Alabama in December of 2010 after completing her Bachelors in Marketing with an International Business concentration. Mallory also attended the Fachhochschule Worms: University of Applied Sciences in Worms Germany. During her time abroad, Mallory traveled to many different countries and studied the difference in mannerisms and personal characteristics of different ethnicities and how they effects business relations.

Mallory’s previous experience includes Truland Homes as the Marketing Director and Bellator Real Estate and Development as the Marketing Manager.

During her free time, Mallory enjoys spending time with family and volunteering with Make-A-Wish Alabama.

Wesley is responsible for managing the construction process across all communities to ensure Truland Homes’ standards on every home. Wesley oversaw the building process of the Truland Homes Showcase Home in 2013 and has a bachelors degree from the University of Mobile. In his spare time, Wesley enjoys volunteer coaching little league baseball, anything pertaining to the outdoors and loves spending time with his wife, Lori and son, Cooper.

Dan is responsible for managing all Truland sales agents, leading training efforts and overseeing all sales efforts to ensure the best results for both the company and our customers. He has over 20 years in sales experience including new home construction in Texas, New Mexico and Southern California.

Previous employment includes V.P. of Sales and Marketing for national home builders in Houston and Southern California.

Dan grew up in Texas and attended Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. During his free time, Dan enjoys biking, kayaking, running, fishing and spending time with his wife Dawn. He also enjoys volunteering with Under His Wings.

Director of Accounting

Debbie oversees the preparation of financial statements, implementation and maintenance of internal controls, and management of all areas of cash flow, as well as human resources. She has a Bachelors Degree in Accounting from the University of Dayton and is a licensed Certified Public Accountant for the state of Alabama. Debbie maintains her Chartered Global Management Accountant designation and has over 15 years of experience in the residential construction industry.

Director of Design

Mason joined Truland Homes in August of 2012. He has over 16 years experience as a Professional Building Designer. He is currently the Director of Residential Design for Truland Homes. He is responsible for overseeing the design and plans process for every home we build.

Mason is a Professional Member of the American Institute of Building Design and a Certified Green Professional with the National Association of Home Builders.

Mason and his wife, Dynette, have a daughter Zoey, son Zachary, daughter in law Kaitlyn and grandson Fisher. Mason and his family are members of First Baptist Church of Tillmans Corner. In his free time, Mason enjoys spending time with his family, fishing, scuba diving and traveling.

Judson is responsible for managing and maintaining budgets, completing field inspections, tracking accuracy of actual spending vs budgets and ensuring accuracy of purchase orders, payments and contract agreements.

He earned multiple degrees from Birmingham-Southern College and Auburn University ranging from a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and a Minor Degree in Studio Art as well as a Master’s Degree in Building Science.

Judson’s previous experience includes 10 years of experience in Project management and Estimating. He has history of working with companies such as Roger’s and Willard Construction and White-Spunner Construction both in Mobile.

In his free time, Judson enjoys spending time with his wife April and son Connor. He also enjoys hunting, fishing, camping and playing paintball.

  3. What’s something you want to do in the next year that you’ve never done before? I have never traveled to Europe! I would love to spend a couple of weeks touring Europe with my husband.

  5. What’s your favorite family tradition? My family LOVES Christmas! Every year on Christmas Eve, my in-laws have a dinner party at their home with friends and family.
